THE QUARTERLY PAUSE
Rethinking Expectations

Thursday 14th of May at 7am

I lead a very small team. We meet weekly, we plan, we execute. Then...it’s May!

Doesn’t it sometimes feel like the year flies and we had little say in how? We just reacted to all the things that came our way and did our best to remain standing.

That’s why we meet quarterly(ish) to reflect together. It’s not a strategy session (you can’t really strategise before you reflect, can you?).

We often pick a theme – this time it’s EXPECTATIONS.

There’s no knowing where it will lead us, but one thing is certain: we will connect some dots and have realisations we simply wouldn’t have otherwise.

Would you like to join us in pause?

Hi, I’m Juliet Robinson, and for the past 25 years I’ve been working with leaders across Australia, helping them bring their teams on board with small and big change. And I can tell you one thing that hasn’t changed at all, despite the unrecognisable face of work: it’s reflection and self-awareness.

Reflection is foundational to any kind of success.

This session is a way to practice together this key leadership practice.

By the way, you should know that this session is run by my team member, Antoanela Safca, who is experienced in facilitating journaling and reflection groups sessions, so we’re in good hands. I will be participating and reflecting, just like you.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Antoanela will share prompts on the theme of Expectations and we will write in short, sharp bursts, 2-3 minutes at a time, then come back together to discuss. The prompts are designed to take us on a bit of a journey of better understanding how expectations impact our work and life. This is very process oriented session, meaning that we focus on reflecting and the outcomes will come. They're often surprising.

You absolutely don't have to share anything you're not comfortable sharing, but even just reflecting on the experience can be very useful.

No, this is not a strategy session, and the team and I will be participating, just like you. There is immense benefit in just coming together and listening to each other. If you want my leadership related help, there are several ways we can work together.

I’m Juliet Robinson and I’ve spent the past 25 years helping Australian leaders build better, stronger, more effective teams.

I've facilitated hundreds of workshops and something incredible happens when we get together (even if we're not in the same team). I'll be guiding through this guided group session meant to unlock the hard-earned lessons of this year.
